Terms of Service & Refund Policy
1Who we are
This website (“the Site”) and the digital ebook bundle The Examined Conscience (“the Bundle”) are published by The Examined Conscience (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing or using the Bundle you agree to these Terms.
2What you are buying
One purchase includes exactly two downloadable digital ebooks in PDF format: The Examined Conscience.pdf and The Kitchen Table Examination - Free Bonus.pdf. Purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to read and print both PDFs for your own household use. You may not resell, redistribute, republish, or share either file.
3Pricing & payment
- The bundle price is $37 USD, charged once. There is no subscription and no recurring billing.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Prices are in U.S. dollars. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
4Delivery
After Stripe confirms successful payment, the confirmation page provides private, expiring download links for both PDFs, and the same links are emailed to you through Resend. The files are held in Cloudflare KV and served only through those links. If you cannot access your purchased files, contact us.
5Refund policy
You may request a full refund within seven (7) days of your purchase for any reason. To request a refund, reply to your receipt email or contact us at the address below. Refunds are issued to the original payment method, usually the same day. After 7 days, all sales are final.
6Nature of the content
The Bundle is reflective writing by a layman on examination of conscience. It is not written by a priest, a deacon, or a religious, and nothing in it is an exercise of clerical authority: the writer does not hear confessions and cannot absolve anyone. Every passage of Scripture and every paragraph of the Catechism is cited exactly as it stands, and the Bundle is not a substitute for the sacrament of Reconciliation or for the guidance of your own priest. It is not medical or mental-health advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or counsel. Grief is not a sin and depression is not a sin — for any concern of the body or of the mind, consult a qualified professional. Individual circumstances vary, and readers are responsible for how they apply the material.
7Intellectual property
All text, illustrations, covers, and the brand “The Examined Conscience” are our property and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Unauthorized copying or redistribution is prohibited.
8Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Bundle is limited to the amount you paid for it. The Bundle is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
9Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its “last updated” date.
